Courtney Foster is the Medicaid policy advocate for the Louisiana Budget Project, where she aims to improve the enrollment experience for people covered by Medicaid through eliminating administrative barriers to coverage. She is originally from Pasadena, California and has lived in New Orleans for the past 9 years. She has advocated for policy changes to help eligible Louisianans get and stay enrolled in Medicaid, and has convened a roundtable for advocates and stakeholders around the state to collaborate on keeping Louisianans covered after the unwinding of the continuous coverage requirement. Courtney monitors federal guidance on the issues affecting Medicaid in Louisiana and has published on ways that the state can preserve coverage for low and moderate-income households. She has presented at national conferences about the importance of strengthening Medicaid and partners with community groups to educate and inform people about Medicaid.
