This session will demonstrate the significance of culturally resonant professional development (PD) in perinatal health that emphasizes tailored evidence-informed knowledge, skill development, and practice refinement to provide safe and quality care and health services that enhance the birthing outcomes for Black birthing people. Our session builds on recent calls to develop culturally resonant PDs that are ethical, innovative, and relevant to the needs of Black birthing people. Additionally, we foreground the knowledge, experiences, and expertise of Black perinatal health professionals at all levels to drive impactful efforts that holistically support the intersecting needs of Black birthing people and families.
