Ashley is the Violence Intervention Program Supervisor at Nebraska. She completed her Bachelors of Science in nursing at Creighton University and Masters in Nursing Leadership and Masters in Business at Nebraska Wesleyan University. She spent eight years as an emergency department nurse before becoming the outreach coordinator for the Nebraska Medicine Trauma Program. In 2018, she was able to transition to the Violence Prevention Coordinator position to assist Dr. Evans in building a hospital based violence intervention program and building a strong partnership with other community based organizations in Omaha to try and stop the cycle of violence in the community. She has educated over 2,000 UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees in trauma informed care and co-directs on a task force to initiate standardized trauma informed practices across the organization. Through her professional career, she has developed a passion for equitable healthcare for all patients and enjoys advocating at the governmental level down to the bedside.
