Virtual Reality (VR) technology tools are being developed and implemented to supplement clinical education in critical areas such as endodontics, prosthodontics, implantology, radiology, orthodontics, and dental surgery. However, there is a lack of clear evidence on its effectiveness. There needs to be more understanding of how assessments can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of VR in student learning. In this session, participants will learn about validated testing instruments, training tools, data collection and study designs to assess VR educational intervention and student learning outcomes. Various methodologies including qualitative, quantitative and mixed data analysis will be presented.
