Dr. Dana Clifton is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Duke University Hospital. Dr. Clifton attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She attended Duke University School of Medicine for her Doctor of Medicine degree and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Clifton is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and she works clinically as a Medicine-Pediatrics hospitalist, rounding on both the Internal Medicine and Pediatrics services at Duke Hospital. Dr. Clifton is the Co-Medical Director of Project COMET, a program designed to improve the care of hospitalized patients with opioid use disorder and withdrawal at Duke University Hospital. She is the Associate Medical Director for Quality Improvement within Duke Hospital Medicine Program. Dr. Clifton is also the Associate Director for Pediatric Undergraduate Medical Education and the Pediatric Sub-Internship Director.
