Senior Lecturer
Imperial College London
Dr Josefin Ahnström is a Lecturer in Haematology in the Department of Immunology and Inflammation at Imperial College London. She has worked there on haemostasis and thrombosis research since 2009, following her PhD at Lund University in Björn Dahlbäck’s laboratory.
Her research interests include structural and functional studies of coagulation with a major focus on the molecular mechanisms involved in the anticoagulant pathways. She uses biochemical and kinetic approaches to study formation of pro- and anticoagulant protein complexes. A recent research interest has been the cofactor roles of protein S and factor V in the TFPI and APC anticoagulant pathways.
