I have been the Library Director of the SUNY College of Optometry for the past 22 years. In addition to being a member of the Medical Library Association national association and Liberty Chapter, I am also active in the Association of Vision Science Librarians. A reference librarian by training and passion, my professional interests focus on helping optometrists stay current with the information they need for clinical care and research, as well as helping alumni and practitioners access the information they need when they are no longer a part of the college community. I enjoy investigating and creating awareness tools and introducing optometry students to evidence-based medicine. I recently supervised a renovation and updating of our library facility and am deeply interested in how our onsite patrons are utilizing the reconfigured space. I also enjoy working with our residents as they delve deeply into their research interests.
In addition to an MLS degree from Rutgers University, I have a BA and MA in French from Montclair State University and enjoy geneaological research, singing, and playing the flute. I look forward to continuing to ensuring that our Library remains state-of-the-art and responds to and more importantly, anticipates the information needs of our community.
