Dave Fontneau is the Director of the Technology Division and the CIO for the Orange County Sheriff's Department in southern California.
In his role, Dave oversees the Orange County 800 MHz Countywide Coordinated Communications System. Serving all 34 cities in the county, and some 150 agencies with more than 20,000 users, the Orange County system is a national model for interoperability. Dave also leads all of the IT functions for the Sheriff's Department.
Having served as Chief of Police in several different communities, Dave brings 40 years of law enforcement leadership to his role with the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Dave has an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice Management and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police with the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF).
In his free time Dave is the Executive Director for the non-profit organization, Cops for Kids, Inc. This organization helps children in need and their families.
