Presentation Description: This presentation is designed to place 911 leadership and telecommunicators in a first‐hand environment that is dealing with extreme chaos and turmoil in a 911 center. This goal of the information is to understand the different struggles and barriers that both are faced with during this type of environment with an end goal of stressing the importance of moral, emotional and peer support for all during such a crisis. These goals will be reached in the form of lecture, PowerPoint and discussion with first‐hand experience of the event story being told.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the decisions that leadership and supervisors are faced with on professional and emotional levels during stressful or traumatic incidents
Be able to identify the importance of being a leader and being present during times of crisis in the 911 environment
Recognize the importance of showing a support system before, during and after any traumatic event be it provided by leadership or their designee
