Telecommunicators are often the first point of contact for survivors of domestic violence seeking assistance and have the ability to provide hope and encourage change through effective response. Ineffective responses to calls involving domestic violence can impact the safety of survivors as well as the ability of the criminal justice system to hold offenders accountable. Facilitated by a multi‐disciplinary team from Illinois, this training provides attendees with an overview of domestic violence, non‐fatal strangulation, and the vital role telecommunicators play within the criminal justice and community response to domestic violence.
