Melanie Welch is Director of ALA’s Public Programs Office. She has nearly 25 years of nonprofit management experience, specifically in associations, environmental organizations and museums with expertise in grant-making, strategic planning, community engagement, grant-writing, informal education, conservation, STEM, humanities and other programs. She is a member of the 2010 class of Catto Fellows, an environmental leadership program at The Aspen Institute in Washington, DC and founder and of the Great Lakes Conservation department at John G. Shedd Aquarium.
