School-based practitioners are faced with their own unique ethical challenges, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This live session discusses ethical issues such as improper billing, client abandonment, practicing while impaired, failure to self-report, unlicensed practice, and pressures to provide services when little to no benefit can be expected. Speakers use interactive case studies and discussion to address these common ethical concerns. Additionally, they discuss ASHA’s role in providing educational resources and ethical guidance to school-based practitioners.
