The first commandment by our creator is to be stewards of creation. For eons, all living and nonliving things had evolved sustainably for their own purpose and intention. Evolution requires energy. All energy, until about 100 years ago, was aligned with creation’s energy framework, using DC power. To achieve becoming a sustainable population, a realignment must occur, and to succeed, we must be willing to let go of the current hub & spoke AC design and utilize the gift of natural design. Using the brain as our guide and biomimicry, we promulgate that smart, sustainable homes must be through the use of DC power. A DC based future requires intraproperty electrical connections with energy flowing from one to the other, mimicking our ability to create and transfer ideas and energy to one another. Utilizing a common DC bus and modern controls for these connections, allows energy to be produced, stored, and transferred; providing a greater level of energy security and access to all. This solution decreases costs for many raw materials in the building construction, and manufacturing processes for electrical devices; including copper, steel, semiconductors, and plastics. This solution will remove the multiple AC:DC conversions producing higher performance and efficiency devices. Simplifying the grid and the home as a whole. Transitioning to a DC-based future will provide a boon in R&D, new investment opportunities, and job creation. Intraproperty DC connections open access to new markets such as low income, rentals, apartments, mixed use commercial, and condos. Power plants do not exist in space. These efforts will thereby fuel the production of the ideas, products, and services needed to facilitate interplanetary colonization. Making this choice, we cannot lose. That which was created in the beginning, was intended to succeed in the end.
