Dr. Martina Penazzato is the lead for the Global Accelerator for Paediatric formulations hosted by the Research for Health Department in the newly establish WHO’s Science Division. She is an infectious disease specialist and over the last 15 years, in addition to providing major contribution to several WHO Guidelines in the areas of HIV, TB and child health, she has provided technical assistance to several countries globally and contributed to shape the paediatric HIV research agenda. In her role as pediatric HIV lead she is also leading the work of WHO on paediatric treatment and care and contributing to a number of global initiatives to improve access to better medicines for children and investigation of new ARVs for pregnant and lactating women.
