Research Technician II
Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
My name is Cecilia Nepple, Research Technician II and Clinical Research Coordinator at the Harris Orthopaedics Lab, a part of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. I am a chemical engineer with a passion for public health, medical devices, and small-molecule therapeutics! Primarily, I study the pathogenesis of infection after joint arthroplasty. My research aims to translate novel therapeutics for orthopaedic surgeons through medical device and pharmaceutical formulation. In my role, I oversee the biophysical characterization of our novel implants and drugs. I co-authored two FDA submissions and two patents for our novel products in less than a year. The projects are fast-paced, dynamic, and foster my love for developing innovative patient-centered treatments. I love making engineering accessible and collaborative across our cross-functional teams to bring cutting edge innovations to our patients, surgeons, and international partners.
