A revised approach involving rational design of composite particles utilizing advanced engineering has delivered new routes to achieve targeted physicochemical properties towards stability and in vivo performance targets while achieving via dosage units preferable to patients. Promising vignettes from this burgeoning approach will be presented as a prologue to subsequent talks on "advances in engineering technologies for drug substance and enabling drug product".
