Translational biomarkers can play a significant role in assessing drugs functions, both in term of efficacy and safety. It is always useful for drug developers and clinicians if there are specific translational biomarkers that can help for example for identifying the right dose for the patients, specifically if other co-morbidities and/or poly-pharmacy is involved. Drug transporters can play a significant role in drugs disposition and identifying and utilizing effective and reliable transporters biomarker can significantly help understanding drugs disposition while specific probe transporters are not available. In this session the state of the art regarding transporters biomarker will be presented.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will get familiar with potential role of transporters biomarkers and how they are commonly identified.
Upon completion, participant will get familiar with practical applications of transporters biomarkers.
Upon completion, participant will see how the biomarkers are used to inform clinicians about transporters interactions.
