Achieving permanent and constructive on-the-water coexistence between the U.S. offshore wind industry and current ocean users (i.e., mariners) is paramount, particularly if President Biden’s goal of 30 megawatts of renewable offshore wind energy by 2030 is to be achieved.

This panel includes a diverse mix of key ocean users, including representatives from the offshore wind and commercial fishing industries, federal government, and private and quasi-government scientific organizations. Upon conclusion of the panel’s presentation and conversation with the audience, participants will have a better understanding of the cooperation and collaboration that has taken place and produced positive outcomes. They will also learn of opportunities that exist, or could exist, to help achieve constructive coexistence among all waterways users in the vicinity of offshore wind farms in the future.
