Peer supports are vital to recovery, especially in rural settings. Recovery specialists, like peers, provide the support an individual needs to engage in their own recovery – to encourage them to recognize their own potential. We will highlight the importance of peer support services and bring awareness to the challenges of resource and transportation insufficiencies in rural settings as we provide an overview of peer support services and activities.
