Families and natural supports are critical resources in supporting individuals with psychosis – yet they are often overlooked. Psychosis REACH (Recovery by Enabling Adult Carers at Home) is a family intervention for psychosis that delivers both psychoeducation and evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp)-informed skills to family caregivers in the community. Join us as we provide an overview of this approach, review key skills associated with the model and highlight the unique role of family ambassadors – individuals with lived experience of caring for an individual with psychosis – in the delivery of the model.
Learning Objectives:
Define key research highlighting the importance of engaging families in treatment.
Describe the key principles of the p-REACH model.
Summarize the role of the family ambassador within p-REACH.
