As the opioid overdose crisis ravages the nation, communities are looking for strategies and interventions to reduce overdose deaths and the impact this public health crisis has on communities. We have developed a unique, transformative and collaborative program with the City Health Department and first responders to provide crisis intervention services as well as care and treatment to individuals who experience an overdose by using peer support specialists who can connect with the individual and their family using their lived experience and in their native language.
