The peer support workforce has been neglected by too many systems in recent years. As a result, we have seen high turnover rates due to a lack of support for peer professionals, a lack of career advancement and little to no voice in decision making. We’ll give you a road map to improve the quality of peer-based services by improving morale, preventing burnout and compassion fatigue, offering leadership development, group facilitation and building advocacy skills with real-world experiences and examples of what works and doesn’t work.

Recognize the benefits of peer-based professionals utilizing professional development and networking opportunities.
Describe the value of improving overall wellness, training needs and morale of peer workforce, and how that translates to productivity and improvements in the delivery of quality services.
