Short Description: This session discusses how to implement a strengths-based talent development model that provides (1) opportunities for subject-specific and whole-grade acceleration, (2) increased depth and complexity in classroom instruction, and (3) environments for students to expand their interests. This is possible without the stigma of labeling or failing to label students as gifted.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Recognize the importance of universally screening students who could benefit from subject-specific and whole-grade acceleration
Learn about adding greater depth and complexity into classroom instruction
Explore how to create learning environments that are responsive to students' interests
