Short Description: STEM experts apply a set of interrelated skills to ask questions, solve problems, and explain phenomena in the world around them. Models specially designed for differentiated instruction and vetted by experts in STEM fields can be used by teachers to develop questions and activities, and guide thinking. Learn specific interrelated models in STEM fields to differentiate instruction and build interdisciplinary connections.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will:
Learn how presented STEM models can be used to differentiate instruction
Use the model as a guide for asking more complex and in-depth questions
Cite examples of how STEM content can be connected to other disciplines
Apply the presented model to their own curriculum by writing specific simple and complex questions and tasks that support student thinking and the development of expertise
