There is a role for everyone in the protection of pollinators – but how can we attract new advocates to their cause? Join entomologist Dr. Sammy Ramsey and acclaimed wildlife filmmaker Martin Dohrn in an engaging discussion about how storytelling and media can help inspire pollinator conservation.
Dr. Ramsey is an entomologist, currently leading an international research initiative to protect honey bees from the non-native Tropilaelaps mite. He is also a popular science communicator, regularly sharing the importance of pollinators in the media, including Hulu’s recent docuseries: Your Attention Please. One of the world’s leading macro filmmakers, Martin Dohrn filmed the secret life of the diverse bee species in his small, urban backyard in Bristol, England. Martin’s powerful experience and immersive footage resulted in the award-winning PBS Nature documentary, My Garden of a Thousand Bees.
Free lunch will be provided to session attendees.
