Halyomorpha halys (Stål), the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB), is an invasive insect found throughout the U.S. damaging economically important crops and ornamental plants. Biocontrol is being pursued as a sustainable method of suppressing BMSB, but further information is needed. We investigated the biology and ecology of stink bug egg parasitoids, specifically for the generalist parasitoid, Anastatus reduvii (Howard). Anastatus reduvii is a native egg parasitoid that attacks the eggs of BMSB in addition to other insect eggs. In this talk, we will present data on alternate egg hosts of A. reduvii and host plants commonly associated with A. reduvii. We will discuss this in the context of enhancing biological control of BMSB.
