This presentation provides a brief overview of EPA’s efforts to help improve the implementation of insecticide resistance management with a focus on resistance management information pertinent to mixtures that EPA expects to be placed on labels for conventional insecticides going forward and the Agency’s current requirements for resistance management involving mixtures of Bt Plant Incorporated Protectants (PIPS). It describes the Agency’s view of resistance management as an important factor in its registration and registration review work on pesticides is also briefly described. In addition, some recent literature on modeling the resistance management value of insecticide mixtures is briefly highlighted, and questions are posed to the audience to consider if they want to provide future input to the Agency as and when it evaluates its guidance on resistance management involving insecticide mixtures.
