Recent data has shown bees are in decline. Habitat loss, pests and pathogens, introduced species and climate change are impacting bee populations. While direct effects of climate change are likely adding to the decline, the compounding-interactive effects of other stressors coupled with climate change are poorly studied. More is known within social bees but understanding these impacts within solitary bees is essential to sustain pollinators both in managed and wildland systems. With the predicted global warming and weather extremes, it is important to understand what can be done now to help mitigate consequences of future warming temperatures.
