There is emergent interest in understand how living systems achieve ultrafast movements using biological springs and latches. In this talk, i will discuss our lab’s work on two different systems that exploit different strategies, structures and materials to achieve the same ultimate goal of achieving repeatable, power-amplified and controlled motions.
