With little agreement on the causes or symptoms of long COVID, and no cure available, employers are confronted with how to handle disability claims. Various federal and state laws mandate reasonable accommodation for persons who have been or are considered disabled. This class will attempt to provide guidance to police administrators and their attorneys, as well as human resource professionals, on how to respond to sick leave, accommodation requests, work-related injury claims by employees and their family members, and disability retirement applications.
