The leadership team of the Los Angeles, California, Police Department, led by Chief Michel Moore, will participate in a panel that explores efforts to integrate wireless and fiber with legacy information systems over the past four years. The panel will include members from all levels of the LAPD to discuss the implementation of wireless devices and applications, connection of body-worn cameras, download access points, and legacy computer systems that house valuable voice and video data. The LAPD also began a massive upgrade and transition of information systems to new platforms to build better access to critical information. The discussion will include funding, security, political, and implementation hurdles and successful implementation during two years of COVID-19 restrictions.
