Dan completed his BS from the University of Michigan in 2010 and completed his PhD in Integrated Physiology and Pharmacology from Wake Forest University working on a project studying the utility of blood cell mitochondria as a biomarker of health in older adults. Dan completed post-doctoral training at the University of Michigan where he used mouse models of aging to examine mechanisms of atherosclerosis. Dan recently joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Pathology as an Assistant Professor. Dan’s research interests include aging, mitochondria, immunology, and neurodegeneration.
