My name is Brandon Greene and I am an assistant professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Biomolecular Science and Engineering. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest before attending Washington State University for my undergraduate studies where I received a B.S. in Chemistry and gained experience in protein biophysics in the Brozik lab. I then moved to Atlanta to complete my PhD studies in Prof. R. Brian Dyer's lab studying the mechanism of hydrogenases by time-resolved spectroscopy. Gaining an interest in enzymology and PCET I took a Postdoctoral position in the labs of JoAnne Stubbe and Daniel G. Nocera working on radical transfer dynamics in ribonucleotide reductase. My lab currently is interested in some of the most challenging examples of controlled proton-coupled electron transfer including thiyl radical reactivity, phosphorus redox cycling, and electron bifurcation.
