My interest in kidney pathophysiology has started during my bachelor degree in life science where I study the role of Lipocalin-2 protein on cellular stress responses during an internship in the laboratory of Dr. Fabiola Terzi, under the mentorship of Dr. Morgan Gallazzini. For my graduate training, I did a Master degree at Sorbonne Université on the field of Integrative Biology and Physiology. I started studying the role of Lipocalin-2 on mitochondrial dynamics regulation in chronic kidney disease under the mentorship of Dr. Morgan Gallazzini. At the end of this internship, I passed the entrance examination to start a PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Gallazzini, on the project: Regulation of mitochondrial dynamics by Lipocalin-2: implication in renal pathology. For this study, I am currently trying to decipher the molecular mechanisms by which Lipocalin-2 is regulating mitochondrial dynamics and so, mitochondrial dysfunction induced during chronic kidney disease. For my project, I am establishing new methods to understand how Lipocalin-2 is an active player on chronic kidney disease, but more specifically how Lipocalin-2 is involved in mitochondrial dynamics imbalance leading to mitochondrial dysfunction.
