Benjamin (Ben) Rush is a 4th and final year Nutritional Sciences PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ben attended Indiana University- Bloomington for his undergraduate and MPH, where he served as a graduate student researcher and statistician. In between his Masters and PhD, Ben served 2 years with AmeriCorps and was a personal chef. Ben now studies various body composition and bioimaging methods aimed at establishing biomarkers of muscle quality with the eventual goal to use those biomarkers in nutritional interventions among clinical populations. He also runs a small business aimed at sharing the vulnerabilities, perspectives, and journeys of scientists from all backgrounds. Through his business Deeper Than Data Media, Ben hosts and produces the “Deeper Than Data with Ben Rush” podcast which showcases the successes, failures, and personal stories of scientists through vulnerability and humor. He enjoys climbing, biking, and eating copious amounts of chocolate through the day which fuels his research.
