I am a PhD student in biomedical science at the receptor biology lab (University of Antwerp). My ambition is to find effective treatments for age-related diseases to extend health span. I am intrigued by GPCRs, and I want to understand how their signals can be selectively manipulated to augment beneficial drug effects, while simultaneously inhibiting detrimental drug effects. This therapeutic ‘pincer movement’ can be achieved by improving our
understanding of GPCR signaling bias. I am excited to study this fascinating process with the new drug target, GPR19, which we have identified as a potential regulator of aging.
