I am a postdoctoral associate at the University of Louisville. I received my Ph.D. degree in biochemistry and molecular genetics from the University of Louisville under the supervision of Dr. Brian Clem in May 2021. I am interested in the non-canonical functions of metabolic enzymes in tumorigenesis. During my graduate work, I made the novel finding that EGFR activation promotes the nuclear localization of PSAT1 (Phosphoserine aminotransferase 1), an enzyme within serine biosynthesis. This led me to further explore the mechanisms for PSAT1 translocation and elucidate the canonical and non-canonical oncogenic function of PSAT1 in EGFR mutant NSCLC cells during my postdoctoral fellowship.
