I am a fourth-year doctoral candidate in Biochemistry at the Graduate Center, CUNY. I am completing my thesis at the Goss Lab at Hunter College, CUNY, where my focus is on the role of secondary and tertiary mRNA structure in cap-independent translation initiation.
I previously completed my bachelor's of science in Biochemistry at Boston College in 2015, where I became fascinated by bioinformatics and mapping genetic expression. After I graduated, I enjoyed several years working in Boston's biotech industry, including two years as a research associate at Siemens Healthineers. During this time, I co-authored a patent for a novel magnesium sensor for blood-gas instruments (WO2018208742A1) with my coworkers.
I hope to defend my thesis and return to industry by the end of 2023. I currently live in Queens, New York.
