Hello! My name is Elizabeth (they/them), and I am a graduating senior at Boston University. I'm graduating in May with a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a minor in Business Administration and Management. I currently plan to pursue a Ph.D. in biochemistry after taking two gap years. In my gap years, I will be working as a research assistant in the Straehla Lab at the Koch Institute at MIT. I'm very excited to present my research, "Investigating the molecular and phenotypic differences in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PanNET) cells with functional loss of either ATRX or DAXX." I have been working on this project for the last year in the Heaphy Lab at Boston University School of Medicine. I would like to thank Dr. Christopher M Heaphy for all of his mentorship and support, as well as lab members, Marija Stojanova and Griffin Salus, for their support and collaboration. I would also like to thank some previous mentors for their continued support in my research career thus far: Dr. Thomas Turbyville, Megan Rigby, Dr. William "Bil" Clemons, Alex Barbato, Dr. Isabel Dominguez, and Dr. John K Snyder. I'd also like to thank my amazing friends and family for encouraging me to pursue my passions and helping me get to where I am today!
