Ben (he/him) grew up in the Portland, ME area and attended Tufts University in Boston, MA for his undergraduate studies. After graduation, he worked as a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco, studying why adults with HIV are at an increased risk to develop cardiovascular disease. He then returned to Boston to attend Tufts University School of Medicine. As a medical student, he was involved in the Tufts Biomedical Queer Alliance working on various initiatives to increase LGBTQ+ visibility on campus. Ben is currently a PGY-2 EM resident at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. His academic interests include LGBTQ+ health, critical care, and toxicology. He serves on his department's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee with the goal to promote LGBTQ+ visibility and recruitment for the residency program. When not working clinically, Ben enjoys hikes with his partner and Bernedoodle puppy Dory, or exploring the local Houston food scene.
