Michael Cole has focused his career on teaching and studying non-traditional topics using novel, alternative, or translated instructional methods and research design. Areas of interest include clinical reasoning instruction and assessment (particularly in early learners), the role of cognitive science in acute care and medical decision making, and impact, assessment, and instruction of nontechnical skills in the emergency and critical care settings.
He has developed curricula rooted in education theory; employed cognitive and behavioral principles to design both traditional and virtual reality (VR)-based instructional modules; and has used varying instructional design approaches to assist learners in deconstructing complex topics and discovering important relationships between seemingly disparate concepts.
Michael always welcomes discussion on new ideas, novel approaches, and unique perspectives that have potential to improve the way leaners gain the knowledge, skills and behaviors needed to provide their patients the best possible care.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
