Dr. Rhyan is a veterinarian and retired wildlife pathologist for the USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Veterinary Services. He received his DVM and MS from Auburn University and has maintained an interest in wildlife diseases during four years of mixed veterinary practice, and fifteen years as a pathologist in state and federal diagnostic laboratories. Since 1997 and until retirement last year, Jack was located at the National Wildlife Research Center in Fort Collins, CO, where he led the Wildlife/Livestock Disease Investigations Team which worked to develop science-based strategies to manage and eradicate diseases at the wildlife-livestock interface.
