Mary Ann Mavrinac is the vice provost and Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly Emeritus Dean, University of Rochester Libraries. Prior to this, she was chief librarian at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where she led from vision to occupancy a new, award-winning academic library, the Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre, which opened in 2006. Previously, she was head, The D. B. Weldon Library, Western University.
Her interests and research focus on library as place, leadership and change, strategic planning, and mentoring—topics about which she is frequently invited to speak and publish. Mavrinac was the 2010 president of the Ontario Library Association. She served on the board of the Association of Research Libraries from 2013-19, elected as President in 2017-18. In 2014, she was honored with the Ontario College and University Library Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2021, the Robert F. Metzdorf Award for meritorious service, Friends of the University of Rochester Libraries.
