SHEZZA ANSLOOS is a Cree writer, educator, and speaker. Ansloos is nêhiyaw-iskwêw (Cree) and English; and is a member of the Fisher River Cree Nation (Ochekwi-Sipi; Treaty 5). She was born and raised a Manitoba prairie girl and now calls Winnipeg home. Growing up an adopted child of the 60’s scoop, Ansloos has a unique Indigenous perspective articulated in her creative work. She is the author of three children’s books; I Loved Her (2010, Pemmican Publications), The Fire Walker (2015, Pemmican Publications), and Thunder and the Noise Storms (2021, Annick Press). Ansloos is also an award-winning singer-songwriter and visual artist.
