Chris Carson has provided financial, operational and strategic advisory services to healthcare providers and has extensive experience in working closely with physician and hospital leaders on comprehensive performance improvement initiatives. Specifically, he has more than 25 years of healthcare experience including hospital and physician operations, physician productivity, clinical integration and healthcare information technology. Mr. Carson brings a unique breadth and depth of experience to his consulting having led and consulted with both academic and non-academic physician groups, healthcare systems, and healthcare information technology firms. Starting with a background in hospital and physician practice management, he has built his career assisting health systems operationalize their physician organizations. His expertise combines physician practice operations, technology, and organizational effectiveness.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Carson spent ten years in the healthcare information technology field with Transition Systems Inc. and Eclipsys Corporation. Mr. Carson previously worked with physicians and health systems as a Senior Consultant with Gates Moore & Company, and The Coker Group.
Mr. Carson has served as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for both Academic Faculty Practice Plan and a multi-hospital healthcare system driving both operational and financial performance improvement.
Mr. Carson began his career leading the ambulatory operations of a 400-bed regional hospital followed by the start-up and management of a Cardiology/Internal Medical Physician group practice.
Mr. Carson is an accomplished speaker, providing insight nationally at the Medical Group Management Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and other medical society and hospital education programs.
