Louise Rudden is a Pediatric Nurse practitioner at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto on the inpatient specialized orthopedic and developmental rehabilitation ( SODR) unit. She has expertise in leadership, care coordination, process improvement, LEAN methodology, pain management, Spinal cord injury, NP role development and program planning and implementation. She is a certified LEAN yellow belt coach.
Louise completed a Master’s of Science in Nursing, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the Metropolitan University, Toronto and a Registered General Nurse Certificate with Trinity College Dublin, and St James’ Hospital, School of Nursing, Ireland.
Her current academic focus includes leading the implementation of a Pediatric Neurogenic Bowel Management Standard of care and development of a new Pediatric Neurogenic Bladder Management Standard of care for clinicians.
She has been a member of the Canadian association of Pediatric nurses (CAPN) executive since 2016 currently as professional practice officer and is leading the revision of the Canadian Pediatric nursing standards. She is also on the PRAXIS-SCI advisory committee contributing to the revision of the Canadian Spinal Cord Injury practice standards.
