This workshop is designed to help prosecutors utilize resources to assess the individual needs of each child and the community for effective prosecution. Child sexual abuse cases bring with them various dynamics to consider. Oftentimes, there are additional factors that accompany these cases which raise the level of difficulty in reaching just resolutions. The discussion will include brief case studies involving unique issues such as young defendants, gender identity norms, sexual orientation considerations, strains on caregivers, and compliant victims.
