Postdoctoral Research Associate
USDA/ARS Children's Nutrition Research Center,
Baylor College of Medicine
Houston, Texas, United States
I received a PhD in Animal Science with a focus in amino acids nutrition/biochemistry at Texas A&M University, under the mentorship of Dr. Guoyao Wu. Following graduation, I joined the lab of Dr. Teresa A. Davis as postdoctoral research associate at the USDA/ARS Children's Nutrition Research Center, within Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital. Our lab's specific work is addressing unique challenges, such as diminished growth rate, faced by preterm and low birth weight infants, utilizing the neonatal pig model. My areas of interest include amino acids and their metabolites as supplement-based interventions for disease therapeutics (ie, diabetes and intrauterine growth restriction) and as enhancements for performance in exercise and growth.
