Jennifer Bathgate is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Clinical Nutrition program at Rutgers School of Health Professions and works as a dietitian in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She earned her Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Jennifer volunteers as a content expert with the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Certified Specialist in Pediatrics specialization and for the Evidence Analysis Library’s NICU project. She has several publications including a review of nutritional factors associated with improved growth in infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a case presentation of a patient with hyperbilirubinemia who improved after transitioning to a novel intravenous lipid, and a case presentation of complicated conjoined twins. Her recent academic efforts were an investigation of the effects of green tea supplements on a biomarker of oxidative stress called F2-isoprostanes, which she is looking forward to present at this year’s ASN conference.
