Drew is a large animal veterinary surgeon and currently a dual postdoctoral fellow and PhD candidate at NC State University. His current research in the Schnabel Laboratory focuses on techniques to improve mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy for tendon injuries through modulation of the MSC secretome. To this end, his work uses both large animal and cell culture models to characterize the tendon microenvironment during injury and to evaluate the interplay between tenocytes and MSCs to further elucidate these mechanisms.
